Handicap International intervenes in a dozen of countries where road safety continues being a major health and development issue. Vulnerable users, including persons with disabilities, considering their greater exposure to crashes and injuries as well as their needs for a safe mobility, are at the center of our interventions.

A few days before the opening of the Second High Level Conference on Road Safety that will take place from 18th to 19th November, we are pleased to share a series of recommendations in line with the United nations’ decade of action for road safety. Based on our experience and field expertise, this briefing paper aims at encouraging all stakeholders to adopt a safe system approach and to generate a safer mobility for all users, including persons with disabilities.
